Mixed sessions: what that means on the day
The hamam session is shared by men and women. Nobody is sent to a separate section, and if you come with a partner or friends you stay together from the sauna to the time to relax at the end.
Everyone in the session wears swimwear the whole way through: in the sauna and steam room, during the kese scrub and the foam, and for the basic aromatic oil massage of about 20 minutes. Guests are not naked at any point, and that holds for every guest in the room.
The order of the stages can differ from one hamam to another, and so can the pace when a session is busy. Which hamam you go to follows from your hotel and its transfer area, so we describe neither the room nor who else will be there.
Feeling at ease in a shared session
Feeling at ease starts with knowing the sequence. The heat comes first, then the kese, then the foam and the oil massage, then a pause before the ride back. The attendants carry out the hands-on stages; you are not expected to know any routine.
Speak up as soon as something does not suit you, whether it is the heat or the pressure of the scrub. Saying so straight away is ordinary hamam manners, not a fuss.
Put your swimwear on in your hotel room before the pickup. You then arrive already dressed for the hamam, with less to think about when you check in.
If one detail matters to you, ask about it before your day rather than at the door. WhatsApp is the quickest way to reach us, and the booking form has a notes box for anything we should know.
Going on your own
You do not need company to book. The online form takes a party of one, and the fare is the same as for any guest aged 6 or over: €25.
The hotel pickup and the ride back are part of the fare. We collect from hotels in Belek, Kadriye and Boğazkent in an air-conditioned vehicle, and we confirm your pickup time with you after booking, before the hamam day. That time tells you when you are collected; it is not when the session starts.
As with any outing on holiday, let someone at your hotel or at home know where you are going.
Leave jewellery and other valuables at the hotel. Hamams differ in what they provide, so we do not promise a place to store your things; a small bag with water and, if you like, your own toiletries is enough.
Door to door, plan on about 2.5–3 hours away from your hotel.
What to wear
Swimwear, under light, easy clothes when you leave the hotel and on for every stage. Choose a swimsuit you are comfortable in for the whole programme and that stays in place while you are scrubbed, washed and massaged; the cut is up to you.
Comfortable footwear or flip-flops make getting dressed again easy. Our guide to what to wear goes through the day garment by garment.
A private session on request
If a mixed session is not what you want, a private session can be arranged on request. It is a separate arrangement: it is not part of the Basic fare and it cannot be added in the online booking form.
We do not publish a price for it. Send us a message on WhatsApp or use the contact form, say which date and hotel you have in mind, and ask what it costs before you decide.
Ask about the details of the private session at the same time; this website describes only the Basic programme.
Health notes
Three groups should skip the hamam altogether, and we say so plainly: anyone who is pregnant, anyone living with a heart or circulatory problem, and anyone who copes badly with heat or humidity.
If you have any medical condition, high or low blood pressure, a skin condition, or a recent operation or injury, talk to your doctor first and tell the hamam before your session. Eat only lightly beforehand, have no alcohol, and tell us about any allergy before the oil massage.
Booking your hamam day
Before you pick a date, check what the Basic programme includes: sauna, steam room, kese, foam and the basic aromatic oil massage, with the transfer both ways. Drinks and refreshments, the photo and video service, tips and personal expenses are extra, and longer or premium massages cannot be booked on this website.
Guests aged 6 and over pay €25; children under 6 pay €12.50. Nothing is charged online: you pay at the hamam on the day, and cancelling is free of charge up to 48 hours before your hamam day.
When you are ready, book the Belek Turkish bath with your date, hotel and guests, and see the total before you confirm. For anything this page leaves open, see our questions and answers or write to us on WhatsApp.
Questions
Can I go to a Turkish bath in Belek as a solo female traveller?
Yes. You can book for one person, and the round-trip transfer from your hotel in Belek, Kadriye or Boğazkent is part of the fare. Sessions are mixed, and everyone wears swimwear throughout.
What does a private session cost?
There is no published price. A private session is arranged on request, outside the online fare, so ask us on WhatsApp or through the contact form for the price.
Do women keep their swimwear on for the whole programme?
Yes, and so does everyone else in the session. Swimwear stays on for every stage, including the kese, the foam and the oil massage.
